Maybelline Color Tattoos, they are a creme shadow with 10 colors in their original line and and 5 in their “metal eyeshadow” line.  They are normally sold for $6.99 each but you can usually always find a sale (right now they are buy one get one 50% off on Ulta.com).  These have been put up against the high end brands such as Mac paint pots.

Their metal eyeshadow line is newer and I have read mixed things whether they will be permanent or just another trial like their launch several months ago where some colors disappeared and others became part of their permanent collection.

I bought three of the newer ones, after loving the other ones I was sure I would love these ones. The colors I bought Barely Branded, Inked in Pink and Gold Rush (swatches below).    I have tested these with and without a primer underneath. I didn’t see much of a difference with a primer or without. These are great bases and stand alone shadows. I do give these a 10/10 especially with the price tag of $6.99.

While working with these for the past week in a half I have realized two of these are very close to Urban Decay Shadows. Barely Branded (shown on the left of the picture below) is very similar to Virgin (shown on the right) and Inked in Pink (bottom left) is very similar to Sin (bottom right).  These Maybelline Color Tattoos make great bases for these two shadows.
